Which colours work well with wood trim? It’s a question that people generally seem to be asking around, simply because most of the Modular kitchens in Ernakulam, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, and other major cities are now getting used to using wood. And with that choice, comes the dilemma – which colour to go for, and which not!

To make things a little easier for you, we have curated a list of our own, telling you why we are biased towards such colours the most…

White

One of the most obvious choices when it comes to wood trim is, white. It’s both obvious, and a good choice, except if you go for bright white. Look for this color with milky undertones to give the best results!

Green

One of our favourite colors is green, because it goes so perfectly and almost naturally with wood trim! This colour works great with brown, blonde, and red woods.

Beige

If you have darker shades of wood in your kitchen, you might want one of tan, ivory, and beige; and in case you do choose to go for one of these, you might want to choose the wood floors that present a contrast to the colour of the trim. It would accentuate the colours further.

Cream

Cream is definitely a great choice – no doubt about it. But, that is only true if you know exactly what cream looks like, and do not confuse it with yellow! Because yellow didn’t too good a choice for wood trim, we think.

Grey

You know which colour is a winner, though? As unexpected as this answer may seem, it’s grey. With weathered, soft, and blonde wood tones, grey teams up exceptionally well.

Blue

There’s also light blue, which if used with soft undertones of grey, does a great job for medium-toned walnut. Couple it with white trim and wooden beams, and you’ll see a magnificent, almost magical blend materialize.

Turquoise

You could also go the turquoise way, for aqua shades work fine too. Especially, if you’re thinking of using it with amber-toned ceiling, you have nothing to fear!

Grey

Grey and even brown, for that matter, works well for cabinets or back trim. You only have to make sure that whatever shade you choose of these colours, they it should be able to provide contrast.

Orange

Red, orange, and rust work with many a trim colour. You could give earthy reds a try, and even work with oranges that have brown undertones.
